A Little History Regarding The Dining Room

The Dining Room is a play by the American playwright A. R. Gurney. It was first produced in New York, New York at the Studio Theatre of Playwrights Horizons, opening January 31, 1981.

The play is a comedy of manners, set in a single dining room where 18 scenes from different households overlap and intertwine. Presumably, each story is focused around a different family during different time periods who has in their possession the same dining room furniture set, manufactured in 1898.

Tickets are on sale Tuesday 1/3/12.  We hope you can attend and enjoy the show!

FCP PRESENTS ANYTHING GOES !

FCP will present Anything Goes with music and lyrics by Cole Porter in July 2012 at the Clayton Center for the Arts Nutt Theatre.  Auditions are free and open to the public and will be scheduled in April 2012.

Anything Goes is a musical farce with madcap antics set aboard an ocean liner bound for London from New York.   Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical introduced such songs as "Anything Goes", "You're the Top", and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

Anything Goes is an award-winning, classic musical that the entire family will enjoy.  For more information, please click here.

FCP STUDIO SERIES COMING SOON!

FCP will be introducing a new Studio Series to our season line-up.  We will be producing avant-garde plays for our patrons who enjoy live theatre - just a bit more toward the edge.   Avant-garde or Experimental theatre challenges the traditional concepts of live theatre bringing with it more audience participation, surrealism, and thinking outside of the box.  These shows will generally be produced with very small casts, minimalist sets, and usually for one weekend runs.

Our first production along this line will be Greater Tuna in May 2012.  While this particular show is not considered "experimental", we've included it in our 2011-2012 Season as our first step in this process.  Tickets for our Studio Series must be purchased separately from Donor / Season Ticket Packages.

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
