To produce a broad range of theatrical presentations of the highest quality;
To provide hands-on learning experiences in all aspects of theatre production and management;
To provide a program of educational experiences in all aspects of the theatre for youth and adults;
To celebrate the achievements of our cast, crew, volunteers, and staff;
To provide value for our community.
Objectives to support this mission are:
- To sponsor approximately 3-5 productions per year;
- To be recognized as a significant cultural asset by the local community;
- To develop and draw from local talent to the maximum extent possible;
- To enhance development of youth in the theatre arts through cooperative ventures with local schools via workshops and sharing of resources.
- To sustain and increase recognition and financial support to talented youth through scholarships and other means.

Foothills Community Players is a Nonprofit 501c3, organization.
Foothills Community Players furnishes an outlet for the creative talents of its
volunteers. FCP offers the opportunity for individuals, with or without formal
theatrical backgrounds, to get involved in all areas of theatrical production
whether on stage or behind the scenes. The
work of FCP is carried out by volunteers from the Blount County area making it
a true community theatre group. FCP’s operating expenses are funded through box
office ticket sales, season ticket sales, grant and personal donations, and
The Clayton Center for the Arts on the Maryville College Campus is a complex of entertainment venues which includes an outdoor Plaza, an expansive recital hall, the Haslam Family Flexible Theatre with a seating capacity of 200, and the Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre, a spacious proscenium theatre with continental seating in the orchestra and balcony. We will be performing some of our shows in the Flexible Theatre and our summer musicals will be performed in the Nutt Theatre.
