AUDITIONS: A Lovely Day to Kill Your Spouse

We are gearing up for our second main stage show of the 2024 season: A Lovely Day to Kill Your Spouse, written by Lindsey Brown and directed by Bailee Burleson/assistant directed by Amanda Wasinger!

When married couple Graham and Gloria embark on a "romantic" oceanic rowboat adventure, chaos ensues when it is revealed that each of them have other, more devious plans for their spouse's fate that day. A terrible storm shipwrecks the couple, who now have to fight for their survival while trying not to lose their heads (literally!) when the couple's younger siblings come to their rescue. This thriller comedy will be so much fun to watch, but even more fun to act in!

Join us for auditions on either Saturday, April 27th or Monday, April 29th any time between 6:30-9:00 PM! You do not have to attend both days, and you do not have to stay the entire time. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script - no monologues required!

Both audition days will take place at the First Baptist Church of Maryville (202 W Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville, TN 37801).

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

GlORIA: 40's. Female-presenting; Married to Graham in a loveless marriage. Clever. Appreciates the finer things in life and will do what she must to keep them.

GRAHAM: 40's. Male-presenting; Married to Gloria. Wealthy, successful and self-serving. Has a weakness for beautiful women.

LUCILLE: 20's-30's. Female-presenting; Gloria's younger sister. Attractive and knows it. Lacks any form of scruples. Determined to get what she wants.

DAVID: 20's-30's. Male-presenting; Graham's younger brother. Rich, but not as wealthy as Graham. A charmer who is not all he seems.

CASTING NOTES:

Rehearsals will take place primarily on Fridays (starting at 6:30 or 7 pm) and

Saturdays (time TBD, based on actor availability) in Maryville.

(Once cast, we will determine one weekday that works for everyone as a backup for make up rehearsals.)

There will be no more than 2-3 rehearsals a week, except for tech week (7/14-7/18).

Due to the structure of the show, the roles of Graham and Gloria will be called at almost every rehearsal.

Please note that there are several kissing

scenes in this show between Graham and Gloria;

Graham and Lucille; and Gloria and David.
